VIS operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex. The 222-S Laboratory Complex is a DOE Hazard Category 3 Nuclear Facility located in the 200 West Area of the Hanford Site. The 580 square-mile Hanford Site, located in southeast Washington State, was established in the 1940s as a plutonium production complex for the Manhattan Project. The 222-S Laboratory’s primary mission is to provide analytical support for the storage and treatment of tank waste at the Hanford Site
Radiological Control & Facility Decommissioning. VIS currently performs radiation protection, shielding design, characterization, and remediation services for the modernization of the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Radiation Physics Building (Building 245) in Gaithersburg, MD.
VIS currently provides a variety of technical and related support services to multiple divisions and programs of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). Work includes: Process Engineering and Safety Basis, Facility Aging Management & Engineering, Integrated Safety Management (ISM), Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Toxicology, Conduct of Operations

VIS provides Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services to the Department of Veterans Affairs, primarily supporting the VA’s largest modernization effort under both the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM). Capabilities include test environment establishment and maintenance in both physical and cloud-based domains to support integration and interoperability between COTS, Legacy, DoD, and other VA systems in addition to risk-based testing of critical and high priority workflows. Areas of expertise include Section 508 Accessibility testing, performance and throughput testing, data migration validation, and the litany of testing activities be they functional, system interface, clinical, or software quality control.

VIS’s IV&V work is foundational to the VA’s Electronic Health Record Modernization effort. The melding of hundreds of legacy and COTS systems with the new commercial EHR being implemented creates unique challenges which PSI’s decades of testing experience help navigate.
VIS leverages expertise in patient health record systems (DEERS, VISTA) and medical staff/provider system operations to support the bi-directional sharing of patient health information. VIS supports a multi-command, remotely available medical readiness decision support system, using Agile and DevOps methodologies combined with collaborative office technologies. The system is responsible for tracking personnel, equipment, and materiel to support the need to train, equip, and maintain for medical wartime readiness.
VIS has migrated on-premise applications to cloud service provider environments as well as deployed cloud-native applications – realizing benefits in performance, scalability, reliability, security, cost effectiveness. We have utilized a variety approaches, including lift-and-shift/rehosting, replatforming, refactoring, and repurchasing to establish cloud environments for our customers. For cloud-native deployments, we apply our agile methodology and DevSecOps implementation to realize a continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) application delivery pipeline with zero down time. Our team designs cloud solutions, implements them in unclassified and classified environments hosted in public and private Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) cloud platforms, and ensures they are authorized and maintain the security posture through continuous monitoring of security controls.
VIS provides expert Web design and development for multiple applications for national agency oversight efforts. This support includes gathering organizational data through survey administration and leveraging that data to create dashboards to highlight areas of needed improvement.
