Health

At VIS, we have a long history of partnering with health organizations to help advance mission readiness and serve our nation’s heroes. We bring together critical thinkers and emerging technologies to deliver innovative, outcome-based solutions for the largest healthcare systems in the world—the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the U.S. Military Health System (MHS).

  • Coding/Billing Systems
VIS redesigned the Department of Defense (DoD) standard patient accounting system to assist military treatment facilities in the collection, tracking, and reporting of data required in the Third-Party Outpatient Collection Program (TPOCS). The TPOCS 3.0 system is the result of a DoD initiative to bring standard commercial medical coding and billing practices to U.S. military hospitals. We successfully developed and deployed the system to approximately 125 Army, Navy and Air Force sites worldwide, providing scenario-based end-user training to more than 100 facilities nationwide and Tier II and III helpdesk support worldwide.
  • Blood Management
The ongoing demand for blood donations and transfusions are critical items for military readiness of our troops worldwide, given the fact that blood cannot be artificially reproduced and must be replenished due to a short shelf life. PSI’s Enterprise Blood Management team delivers a robust Blood Donor and Transfusion solution to benefit our Nation’s servicemen and women. Our global Blood Collections operation includes the ability to leverage a centralized donor database, providing stakeholders access to real-time enterprise reporting capabilities to monitor and adjust blood and blood product inventories. VSI’s comprehensive Blood Management solution supports the acquisition of hardware and software, software configuration, information assurance, deployment and training. Our Blood Management services include integration of medical devices into enterprise solutions that often consist of multiple applications, server farms, and specialized printers.
  • Clinical Services & Manpower Management
VIS leverages its proven clinical systems experience to help support missions and enhance the delivery of healthcare. Our innovative approaches and proven strategies facilitate business process changes, ensure program continuity with uninterrupted service, and improve patient outcomes. The Military Health System (MHS) is facing the challenge of maintaining the quality of legacy support while designing and executing a future path for core clinical applications. VIS achieves technical advancements through the use of the latest automated tools that manage and monitor network performance, capacity impacts, remote problem resolution, deployment of error-free software, and properly configured hardware.
  • Clinical Systems Development
Since 2005, VIS has played a vital role supporting the Defense Medical Human Resources-internet (DMHRSi) for the Air Force. DMHRSi is a Human Resources (HR) management application designed to provide accurate HR information regarding medical personnel readiness, financial reporting, and other requirements across the Military Health System (MHS) enterprise. VIS provides reinforcement of sustainment and training activities, including business process reengineering, to support DMHRSi at Air Force Military Treatment Facilities (MTF). Our services include on-site, classroom, and webinar training to Air Force Medical Expense Performance Reporting System managers. In addition, PSI professionals update all functional cost codes in DMHRSi to enable the Air Force to track man hours and support time-sensitive decisions. This data, which details the amount of time spent in support of MTF activities, is critical in tracking labor hours and analyzing financial impact on the MTFs.

  • Medical Modeling & Simulation
VIS plays a critical role in the medical education and training for healthcare teams, improving healthcare outcomes and enhancing the level of healthcare services to our service members and their families. We combine courseware development, testing, implementation, training and operations with new and emerging technologies to increase operational efficiency and expand the footprint of the services provided.
  • IT Support & Operations
VIS operates a global service desk with Tier I, II, III personnel supporting on premise and cloud infrastructure, applications, and mobile devices. We manage IT operations using network monitoring, lifecycle management, change and release management to ensure networks, systems, and applications are highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and secure.
